The EvShadow Team did an exclusive interview with Dave Eggar and here what he said about working with Amy:
You helped in the composition of the soundtrack of the movie ‘War Story’ (with Amy Lee). Have you already done something similar? How was doing this work?
War Story is the first soundtrack that Amy and I work together, although I play with her since 2006. It was an amazing process. We had to create unique and experimental soundscapes - it was great fun for us, go out from our comfort zone, to create these soundscapes and praise this amazing movie.
What can you tell us about the tracks “Push the Button” and “Resurrection” (played by you and Amy at Bluegrass Underground)?
"Push the Button" is a new song for the movie War Story. It was created by Amy. There is another song in the movie that IT IS AMAZING! And you will hear it complete soon. We finished that song last week and they added on one of the most dramatic scenes of the movie. "Resurrection" will be part of a piece that Amy and I wrote together for the dance company’s Hammerstep (who played on Bluegrass Underground us). I love his dark industrial quality. We hope to write a longer piece for them.
How did you meet Amy Lee and Evanescence? What was your first impression of the band?
I met Amy Lee in 2005 and start playing some acoustic sets during The Open Door. I was immediately impressed with her musical intelligence, artistry and expressive diversity. I also loved the melodic and dramatic expression of Evanescence - there are a lot of classical influence so I felt it fit me well.
Do you think Amy Lee would do good in a solo career? How is working with her now, in this new phase? (now that she’s about to be a mother).
Of course, Amy is brilliant! The new material that she’s been writing is bright, fresh and contemporary. I think we will see some of their most exciting music this year. It’s so fun working together, because we are finding new voice and direction of expression - it is wonderful to go to the studio and know exactly what will happen!
Wow! So in addition to “War Story” you are involved in other projects with Amy this year? What can we expect for 2014?
Wait and see! (Laughter) I think we’ll have some more exciting films, we are already talking to Mark Jackson, the director of War Story about working on a new movie with a great script.
More new material THIS YEAR!!!!!?!?!!
